1. Who is the biggest inspiration in your life?
I’d have to say my boyfriend who passed away, Quentin ‘DJ Ox’ Bradford. At 27, he passed away due to a rare cancer. I was 18, just turned 19. We got together in Jan 2004, and by the next Jan he was gone. For 6 months, I watched him waste away. It was life changing. He helped me develop a passion for DJ’ing, music, and life. Through him, I met the people who have become more than friends, they’re family. I got depressed for a while after he died….but, I realized life is too short to not live this shit to the fullest.
2. What is your favorite color?
Golden/Honey Yellow, and honorable mentions go to any warm hue out there.
3. Three adjectives to describe yourself
- Sunshine-y
- Tolerant
- Loving
4. What was the last book you read?
‘Summer’ by Edith Wharton
5. Do you have any phobias?
Fucking insects and heights, my two bugaboos.
6. What is one thing that always makes you happy?
My padawan, even when she’s fucking some shit up, she still manages to make me smile. Honorable mention, though, a dusty record store full of vinyl never fails to make me weak in the knees.
7. What is one superpower you’d like to have for a day and why?
There was a Black chick on Heroes that could mimic anything anyone did. Assuming I could retain my skills once my superpower left, yeah, I’d want that one.
8. Are you still friends with your most recent ex?
Considering that’s my baby’s father, we gotta keep some semblance of friendship, for the padawan’s sake. I really don’t want her to grow up thinking Mama and Daddy hate each other. That shit ain’t cool. So…he and I talk, sometimes laugh, we keep it kosher.
9. Favorite song currently?
Too hard, I’ll just say, the last song I listened to was “God Lives Through” by A Tribe Called Quest
10. Your favorite part of your body.
